The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League, famously known as the IPL 2024, is scheduled to begin on March 22 and will be held entirely in India, as confirmed by IPL chairman Arun Dhumal.

Despite coinciding with the upcoming general elections, the league will not be moved overseas, with the first 10 days of matches to be announced initially and the rest to follow once election dates are set, to avoid logistical issues related to venue security.

This strategy aims to prevent last-minute venue changes, ensuring the smooth operation of the league, which is expected to conclude by the end of May, ahead of the T20 World Cup starting June 1.
